Janey Goodman of Powhatan Named AVCA All-American Honorable Mention

James Madison volleyball's senior right side hitter Janey Goodman was honored Wednesday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association as the Powhatan, Va. Native was selected as an All-American Honorable Mention.

The accolade comes after Goodman was selected to the AVCA East Coast All-Region Team for the second consecutive season. The senior become the first Duke to ever receive an All-American honor from the AVCA. Earlier this season, Goodman was also honored as the Colonial Athletic Association and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

The senior led the league with 522 total kills to average 4.64 per set, both single-season records for the Dukes. Goodman added 621.0 total points, averaging 5.22 pet set.

Nationally, Goodman currently ranks in the top 12 in all four categories. The Powhatan, Va. native rounded out her offensive numbers with a .318 hitting percentage, fourth-best in the league, on 1,338 attack attempts, which is Goodman's third single-season record set over her senior season.

Goodman closes her career ranking second in career kills (1,716) and career attack attempts (4,452), tied for second in career kills per set average (3.80), fourth in career block assists (332), fifth in sets played (451) and eighth in total blocks (353).
