Katie Hoer of Yorktown selected as Programmers-In-Training

2013 Dec 4

Yorktown, VA resident, Katie Hoer, was recently selected to be part of the University Program Board's Programmers-In-Training.

Hoer is a Senior Hospitality and Studio Art major.

Programmers-In-Training, also known as the PIT Crew, have been through six weeks of training about programming, marketing and leadership skills to prepare them to work behind-the-scenes at large and small venue concerts, film screenings and student created events. The University Program Board is one of the largest student-led organizations on campus. UPB offers a variety of educational and entertaining programs to complement the academic experience such as concerts, movies, speakers, novelty acts and much more. UPB events are open to all students. Members of the PIT Crew are assigned to various committees including Film, Center Stage, Spirit and Traditions, Special Events and Spotlight Sounds. "We are so lucky to have such motivated and engaged group of students this year to continue to provide creative and energetic events to the campus," said UPB Coordinator Anna Lehnen. "We truly couldn't do it without them!"
