Kelly Soderberg of Alexandria, VA Serves on JMU's O-Team

Alexandria, VA resident, Kelly Soderberg, recently served as a student orientation coordinator (SOC) on James Madison University's orientation team.

JMU's team of student orientation coordinators is a group of juniors and seniors who have served in a variety of roles within the orientation programs prior to their current role in the office. SOCs are responsible for creating intentional programming during the week of 1787 August Orientation and recruiting, selecting, training, and training our almost 300-member student staff.

JMU's award-winning orientation team develops, coordinates, and supervises the transitional needs of first-year and transfer students entering JMU. The Orientation Office coordinates Summer Springboard, 1787 August Orientation and prepares publications such as The One Book to assist new students and family members in their transition to JMU. Staff members work throughout the year to ensure incoming first-year and transfer students are provided with the resources, knowledge and peer connections for success at JMU.
