This is a class-based trip sponsored by the School of Communications that focuses on refuges and genocide. While in Arizona, the students provided general assistance, mentoring, tutoring and advocacy at the Lost Boys of Sudan center. Additionally, students taught English as a Second Language and citizenship courses. While working with Catholic Charities the students got to meet refugee families and helped them get acquainted to living in the United States.

The student-led ASB trips, scheduled for March 2-9, are each based on a social issue such as homelessness, environmentalism or community wellness. Over 300 students embarked on 30 spring break trips around the country and world. The students spend the week living simply, focused on service in their destination community but also on teamwork and reflection within their group.
