Winchester resident assists in filming of stained glass documentary

Jenna Fries partnered with James Madison University faculty, staff and community volunteers to create a documentary film that traces the history of stained glass windows in the Shenandoah Valley.

Fries, a 2015 Media, arts and design major at JMU, was one of two JMU students to volunteer for the project, titled "Stained Glass Windows of the Shenandoah Valley." The hour-long documentary showcases historically significant windows in 20 locations throughout the region.

"Not many students get this type of opportunity," said Fries. "I didn't know what to expect and that was the fun part."

The documentary film will be broadcast on local public television station WVPT on Oct. 9.
